Creative Mixed Use Projects – February 2005

Acanthus Ferguson Mann has a growing reputation in developing existing buildings as mixed use developments which include residential accommodation, workspaces for small creative businesses, arts projects, and commercial uses such as restaurants bars and café’s.

The Tobacco Factory in South Bristol was one such pioneering project which is famed for its contribution to the revitalisation of the surrounding community. It was designed for low annual running costs to give it sustainability in both environmental and economic terms. Other projects currently at the design and implementation stages include a micro brewery and restaurant, incorporating an historic tram shed, as well as the imaginative conversions of two large former industrial sites to create eclectic urban enclaves where live/work accommodation sit side by side with restaurant, office and other light industry.
